Ready By Five (RB5) Paraprofessional Application

Keep in mind that we are going to do what is best for the health and safety of ALL concerned (teachers, students, parents and staff).

Please note there will be a mandatory faculty/parapro meeting on Saturday, February 8, 2025. It will be held at Ferguson Elementary 1755 Centerview Way NW, Duluth, GA 30096 from 9 am to approximately 10:30 am. You will be paid for your time in the meeting.

If you are hired, you will receive your pay through GCPS.

Paraprofessional rate of pay is $18.00 per hour.

Session 1 of the program will run for 4 consecutive Saturdays beginning February 22, 2025 and ending March 15, 2025.

02/22/25, 03/01/25, 03/08/25, 03/15/25

There will then be approximately a 1 month break.

Session 2 of the program will run for 4 consecitive Saturdays beginning April 19, 2025 and ending May 10, 2025.

04/19/2025, 04/26/2025, 05/03/2025, 05/10/2025

The last date to apply is December 01, 2024.

As adults, we will expect promptness. Tardiness is unacceptable.

We do understand that emergencies arise. You will be provided a procedure with which to handle an emergency where you will not attend on a given Saturday.

The program will run for 2 hours each Saturday, from 9 am to 11 am.

Paraprofessionals will be paid for up-to 30 minutes before and after classes to set up and repack and straighten your room in addition to the 2 hour classes each Saturday.

You will need to arrive promptly by or at 8:30 am and sign in (so we know you are there) and work with your Teacher to prepare and stage your room for the day.

Once the program ends at 11 am, you and your teacher will properly repack your materials for storage until they are needed again and straighten your room. If you finish before 11:30, please check with the other classes and help them if they are still packing and straightening. At 11:30 all teachers and paraprofessionals will go to the designated space (likely the library) for a debrief that will last up-to an additional 30 minutes. Once that meeting ends, please log out and feel free to leave.

You will need to sign a GCPS miscellaneous time sheet periodically for which we will complete your hours based on your time worked.
